PANICMOM
Lianne Elsouki
PANICMOM is haunted by the Greek god Pan, who stages birth and death as a looping gag. He’s just trying to make a joke about reincarnation—one we can’t forget.

Beginning with a gag and never really recovering, PANICMOM is an exorcism masquerading as a clown show. In an unexpecting mother's fever dream, the Greek god Pan induces cycles of birth, of death, of birthing death and killing birth. Death and life trade places, they do a little dance for us, and we laugh before we understand why. Because, how *does* the unconscious process violence? With a blender?
CW: This show contains a strobe light, loud sounds, abrupt lighting changes, and references to violence.
PANICMOM would like to thank The Brick Theater and its New Works festival, the safe and supportive birthplace of this project.
